Beginner Basics • Can't connect to router board via ssh

Hello,

I want to set up my router board but I can't connect to it. I added to my interface lan 2 (ether2) the ip-address = 10.10.2.0. After that I added the ip-address= 10.10.2.1 to the interface of my laptop which is connected to the board. But when I now try to do a connection via ssh then I got a time out. When I try the same with the ip address = 192.168.88.1 on the router board and 192.168.88.2 on my laptop it worked. So why does 10.10.2.0 not work?
